Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated his stand on Sambhal mosque disputes, saying, "Disputed structures should not even be called a mosque."

CM's comments came on Friday while speaking at an event hosted by a news channel in Prayagraj.

He said, "Kisi bhi vivadit dhaanche ko masjid nahi bolna chahiye. Hum jis din masjid bolna bandh kar denge, uss din log jana bhi bandh kar denge. (A disputed structure should not be called a mosque. The day we stop calling it a mosque, people will stop going there.)"

“When the God does not approve of such worship, why should we worship there in vain. Also, it is not necessary to build a structure for worship in Islam, while it is very much so Sanatan Dharma," CM stated, as per reports.

“Sanatanis will go to the temple for worship, but so is not in Islam. In such a situation, we should not insist on calling any structure a mosque. This is the time to move forward with thinking about a new India. We should pay attention to this,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath's remarks come amid a series of temple-mosque disputes, with several cases pending in various courts over temple-mosque disputes.

On Friday, the Supreme Court of India issued a notice on a petition filed by the Jama Masjid Committee of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh and ordered status quo with regard to a private well located near the entrance of the mosque. CM made the remarks on the temple-mosque disputes on the same day.

Yogi further said the installation of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya a year ago and the Mahakumbh being held at such an auspicious time after 144 years were due to the grace of God.

On December 12, the Supreme Court barred civil courts across the country from registering fresh suits challenging the ownership and title of any place of worship and from ordering surveys of disputed religious places until further orders. Petitions relating to the Places of Worship Act, 1991, are also before the Supreme Court.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that it is ‘unacceptable’ to rake up new temple-mosque disputes in India, while reiterating that Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was a matter of faith.

Roy was arrested based on CCTV footage that captured him entering the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College at 4:03 AM on August 9, the night the crime occurred. His arrest1xbet, however, was preceded by significant delays in securing evidence, raising concerns about the integrity of the investigation.
