On Monday, Chandrika shared a 3-minute glimpse from the upcoming biopic on her Instagram stories and wrote, "In honour of Silk Smitha’s birthday today, we present to you the first glimpse of Silk Smitha - Queen of the South.”
The video starts with Indira Gandhi seeing news about Silk Smitha in the newspapers and asking her aide about her. He replies, “Madame, like you are the Iron Lady, she is the Magnetic Lady.” We then see Chandrika turning and walking down a boulevard. She then interacts with a fan who wants her to sign his chest. She is also seen playing with stray dogs.

The clip has Ilaiyaraaja’s iconic music for Mella Mella from Vaazhkai, which also starred Silk.
Directed by Jayaram Sankaran and backed by S.B. Vijay Amritharaj, Silk Smitha's biopic is set to begin production in 2025.
